Doug McCorkle, Ph.D.
Chief Science Officer
As the chief science officer for Sustainable Environmental Consultants (SEC), Doug McCorkle is responsible for creating and championing the strategic technological vision. This vision drives technology initiatives, balancing short-term and long-term company goals, and develops key solutions utilizing the EcoPractices® platform. He collaborates with the sales and customer support teams to prioritize new product development opportunities and current product enhancements, as well as oversees the evolution of the existing software system applications and architecture.
Prior to joining SEC in 2018, Doug worked in the ag-tech sector for EFC Systems, Inc. and AgSolver, Inc. to help lead technology and data initiatives. Doug also has research experience with the U.S. Department of Energy Ames Laboratory in Ames, Iowa.
Doug received his bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. He achieved his master’s and doctorate degrees in mechanical engineering from Iowa State University.
Outside of work, Doug enjoys spending time with his family, swimming, and enjoying the great Iowa outdoors.
