Environmental sciences analyst Andy Curtis joined the Sustainable Environmental Consultants (SEC) team in May 2022. In this role, Andy works with the EcoPractices® technology team to develop and deliver best in class environmental data outcomes to clients. Through work with databases, scripting languages and other analytics tools, Andy supports producers in their journey to more sustainable practices.
Andy graduated from Drake University with a Bachelor of Science degree double majoring in environmental science and biochemistry and molecular biology along with a Bachelor of Arts degree in chemistry. He graduated summa cum laude in 2014. While at Drake, Andy competed in varsity track and field.
Following graduation, Andy spent his early career as a research assistant at Pennsylvania State University and as a laboratory technician at Pace Analytical in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Andy most recently worked for the City of Ames, Iowa, since 2015 as a laboratory analyst. While working for the city, he grew a deep passion for software development and programming through the implementation of a web-based data management system.
In his spare time, Andy enjoys spending time with his family, cooking, competitive activities, reading and watching movies.
