Carrie Roever, Ph.D.
Data Sciences Lead
“Both professionally and personally, I believe that simplicity is beauty. I enjoy combining complex data and beautifully designed reporting into products that can be simple for our clients to digest while driving sustainable improvements to their operations.”
Carrie Roever joined the Sustainable Environmental Consultants (SEC) team in November 2021 as the data sciences lead. In this role, Carrie supports the EcoPractices® platform by developing solutions to improve how environmental outcome data is delivered to clients. As a facilitator of the day-to-day management of data, Carrie works closely across SEC divisions to define new platform capabilities, address client feedback, develop reporting tools, and ensure proper data organization.
Carrie received her bachelor’s degree in life sciences from Indiana State University and a master’s degree in ecology from the University of Alberta. Following her master’s degree studies, Carrie went on to earn her doctorate in zoology from the University of Pretoria in South Africa, pursuing her childhood dream of studying African elephants for three years.
A career path in agriculture and data sciences began during her post-doctorate program in Oregon where Carrie collaborated with the U.S. Forest Service to create a dynamic habitat selection model for cattle on public land. She has since spent recent years managing data repositories for the University of Idaho and the National Corn Growers Association.
In her free time, Carrie enjoys camping, traveling, and spending time with her family.
