Patrick Edmonds

Environmental Modeling Lead

“I have passion for figuring out how things work, how they can be applied to answer a question, and how they can be improved. I am excited to use my knowledge and dedication in these areas to help producers understand and improve their operations in terms of sustainable practices.”

Environmental modeling lead Patrick Edmonds joined the Sustainable Environmental Consultants (SEC) team in April 2022. In this role, Patrick supports the EcoPractices® platform through development and analysis of the modeling framework, collaborating with the team to deliver best-in-class environmental data outcomes to producers.

Patrick graduated from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign with a Bachelor of Science degree in atmospheric sciences. Following his undergraduate degree, he grew interested in coupling his knowledge of weather with agriculture research and went on to pursue a Master of Science degree in meteorology from Iowa State University (ISU).

Upon graduation from ISU, Patrick began his career as a research scientist in their agronomy department. Through field work, data collection, processing and analysis, the research position ignited a passion for crop modeling and the impact and interaction between weather, climate and crops.

In his spare time, Patrick enjoys reading books, watching movies and spending time with his family and dog.
